about the artists

Johanna (Hanna Q) started dancing at 3, she later graduated with a BFA in Dance Education/Dance Pedagogy (The University of Dance and Circus, DOCH) Stockholm, Sweden. She has worked in Europe and USA. In 2008, she founded her Non- profit organization and school Delaware Dancers. 2013 she was awarded a grant from The PA Council on the Arts, that year she founded her NYC based, Hanna Q Dance Company. Her choreography/company has been presented in NYC and around ever since then. Johanna feeds her energy into the company’s essence- the movements, feelings, and choreography style. Her work reflects her thoughts and desires that she may not reveal through verbal conversation. Her choreography is an outlet of her current emotions.

ClancyWorks Dance Company is celebrating our 19h season as Washington, D.C./MD based ensemble of professional and passionate artists with an interest in collaborative partnerships to serve the community. This contemporary modern dance company shifts perceptions through performance! The Washington Post has described Dr. Adrienne Clancy, Founder, as “wizard of invention” and her choreography as “a tour de force of unpredictable partnering.” Specific to Clancy’s creative process is an exploration of architecturally informed partnering work that uses dance to further pedagogical practices by promoting tolerance, teamwork, community activism, and individual empowerment.
