Dixon Place Hosts: inQUAD Presented by Inclined Dance Project

About This Show

A performance series featuring the work of four female choreographers. These four like-minded artists share similar backgrounds, experiences, and creative theories but showcase uniquely different styles. Each choreographer’s distinct virtuosity and singular exhibition give way to a dynamic showcase of innovative and contemporary dance. The show title draws loose inspiration from the stage play Quad  by Samuel Beckett.

The series features the works of dance choreographers Beth Liebowitz (Beth Liebowitz & Artists), Amy Campbell (Crooked Mouth), and Winnie Berger (Mook Dance Company), as well as Kristen Klein of presenting company Inclined Dance Project. #inquad

About the Artists

Inclined Dance Project, founded in 2009 by Artistic Director Kristen Klein, creates dance works of contemporary athleticism inspired by ever diverse human experiences. Approaching dance-making through a set and destroy method, Inclined allows the performers the opportunity to deconstruct material and incite dialogue, exploration, and personal contribution to a work. The end result is athletic, technical, and dynamic movement that challenges the performers and engages audiences. Presenting the World Premiere of Babble (v.3.0)

Beth Liebowitz & Artists is a company of dancers, musicians, actors, and visual designers who create work in a collaborative environment under the artistic direction of Beth Liebowitz. Pieces often reflect on human connection and our psychological and physical environments. Presenting the World Premiere What You Hear Is Yours

Crooked Mouth is a collective of outrageous, dynamic, and theatrical dancers under the direction of Amy Campbell. Formed in early 2013, Crooked Mouth is a company founded in modern dance and shaped by nightlife, punk rock, irrational feelings, and everyday life. Watch us shapeshift. Presenting the World Premiere of Sunshine Champion

Dynamic yet pedestrian, ethereal yet relatable, Mook Dance Company, under the direction of Winnie Berger, aims to bridge the gap between metaphor and reality. Subjective instances in life are tangible, arduous, and experienced by all, and Mook uses dance as a form of discussion that dancers and non-dancers alike will recognize and comprehend. Presenting the World Premieres of Bloodflood, Defeating the Anx, and Evo.
