Inhibited Bites Neil Goldberg

About This Show

For this return performance at Dixon Place, artist Neil Goldberg will use a collection of index cards which include passing thoughts, observations, and reflections jotted down over many years as prompts for an intergenerational queer talk show. Guests include comedian & producer Bowen Yang and writer & performer Rachel Lipstein.

about the artist

Neil Goldberg makes visual art and performance work that focuses on embodiment, sensing, mortality and the everyday. He’s shown his work at MoMA, The New Museum, The Museum of the City of New York, The Kitchen, and elsewhere. The NY Times described his work as “tender, moving and sad but also deeply funny,” and Time Out New York wrote, “Goldberg has produced some of the most quietly intense and affecting art of his generation.”

Bowen Yang is a comedian, producer and formerly mediocre chemistry major based in Brooklyn, NY. He creates and produces various live shows in New York, including “Live on Broadgay” at Littlefield, “Lake Homo High” at The Annoyance, and the “Las Culturistas” podcast with Matt Rogers, which has been featured in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Splitsider and Time Out New York. TV credits include “Broad City,” “The Outs,” and “High Maintenance.”
Rachel Lipstein is a writer and performer based in Brooklyn, NY. They are on the editorial staff of The New Yorker, produce the live comedy show “Mental Leave,” and host a public-access show about dyke and dyke-adjacent culture, which will be released in summer, 2018. Find them on Instagram, or on their more haphazard and conflicted Twitter, @rl__stein.
