I’m Not Mike White

About This Show

On the subway. At a Carrie Fisher book reading. In front of the Qantas Airlines counter at JFK. A LOT of people were insisting Tim Cusack was Mike White. Step into the mirror world of being a celebrity doppelgänger and experience roads not taken and lives not lived. From Catholic Scranton to hedonistic 90s New York to witchy Weehawken, this funny and poignant journey moves from mistaken celebrity identity to mistakes of a more consequential nature. Sometimes finding yourself means discovering who you’re not. Let’s ask the tarot cards…

Tim Cusack was the co-founder and artistic director of Theatre Askew. For Askew he appeared in “Bald Diva!” (Notable Performance of the Year: TheaterMania/GLAAD Media Award nomination); “I Claudius, Live” (“Next” magazine Future Legend); “i google myself” (NYTheatre.com Person of the Year/GLAAD Media Award nomination). He was one of the inaugural recipients of the Rochelle Denton Award for his years of service to and sustained artistic excellence in the Downtown theatre community. His two-volume collection “Puppet and Spirit: Ritual, Religion, and Performing Objects” received the Nancy Staub Award from UNIMA USA for Outstanding Contribution to Writing on the Art of Puppetry. BFA NYU/TSOA. MA Hunter/CUNY.
