In the Lounge I Love White Men Sim Yan Ying

About This Show

In my three years of living in New York, I’ve only ever swiped right on white guys on Tinder. I Love White Men is an exploration of one Asian woman’s obsession with white men – her desire to be with them, and her desire to be them. Through a series of confessions, apologies, Reddit posts, decade-old email exchanges, interviews, and research, Yan Ying (YY) examines her complex relationships with the various white men in her life. This semi-autobiographical performance explores where these desires stem from, how she feels about them, and if doing a show about them actually solves anything!
