I Can’t Sleep Elizabeth Munn, Matthew J. Harris, Lisa Natoli

About This Show

I CAN’T SLEEP is a collection of dance theater and aerial pieces exploring the repetitions that drive and stagnate us: the short-circuiting and every day looping of the brain, habitual motions both social and physical, and the consequences these motifs present.  How do we find our individual freedom when it is our own patterns inside relationships, circumstances, and bodies that can be our biggest obstacle?

About the Artists

Elizabeth Munn is an aerialist and recovering opera singer exploring new ways of storytelling through multi-disciplinary collaborations.  Her work combines the discipline of her classical music training with her background in dance and physical theater, and she is equally at home in theater, nightlife and creating/producing devised work. She has performed frequently with 2 Ring Circus and Lisa’s Bright Ideas, and is a regular on the cabaret scene in New York.   www.elizabethmunn.nyc

Matthew J. Harris is an actor/dancer/choreographer with a BFA from Rutgers Mason Gross. Theatre credits include ‘TOPDOG/UNDERDOG’ (directed by Billy Porter), ‘Milk Like Sugar’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (Huntington Theatre), ‘In The Heights’ ( Walnut st.), ‘Midsummer Nights Dream’ (CTH), to name a few. Television credits include BLINDSPOT and Person Of Interest. His choreography has been presented at Ailey Citigroup, Slipper Room, Bitter End, Dixon Place, and more. www.matthewjharris.net For teaching: www.ManInMotionNYC.com.

Lisa Natoli, also known as Iron Fanny, is an aerial performance artist living everywhere and nowhere.  She is a sought after aerialist known for her unconventional approach and intensity of artistic curiosity.  She’s that character in films and books we root for, except this one’s flesh and blood. Her art isn’t printed, published, or filmed.  It can’t be sold off a merch table. It exists for a moment of beauty, right in front of you, and then it’s gone. Lisa worked on a creation project with Spiegelworld directed by Steven Hoggett at St. Ann’s Warehouse (NYC) in 2017.  She has presented solo and ensemble work at The Toronto Contemporary Circus Festival, The House of Yes, Galapagos Art Space, CBGB’s Gallery, The Brooklyn Lyceum, Gowanus Ballroom, MonkeyTown, Invisible City, The Clocktower Cabaret and with Black Hearts Burlesque.
