About the Authors

Joseph Keckler is a singer, musician, writer, and artist. He performs widely and has appeared at venues such as Lincoln Center, SXSW, Miami Art Basel, and Centre Pompidou. He is the author of several theater and performance pieces—including 2013 Dixon Place commission I am an Opera—as well as  many songs, and has occasionally written about contemporary art for VICE and other publications.  His work has been featured on WNYC and BBC America and he is the recipient of awards from Creative Capital, Franklin Furnace, and NYFA. Dragon at the Edge of a Flat World is his first book.

Books by Ariana Reines include The Cow (Alberta Prize, 2006), Coeur de Lion (2007); Mercury (2011), and The Origin of the World (2014) from Semiotext(e). TELEPHONE, her first play (2009) was commissioned by The Foundry Theatre, won two Obies, has been translated into Norwegian & French etc, & comes out this fall from Wonder.  She’s created performances for The Whitney Museum, Le Mouvement Biel/Bienne, MoMA Print Studio, The Swiss Institute, Stuart Shave/Modern Art, & many more.  You can find her writing in Artforum, Art in America, The Believer, Bomb, The Boston Review, Granta, Harpers, The Lit Hub, &….
