“ALEXCHRISTINE” (2017) is a new short film by Brooklyn choreographer/filmmaker Charles Dennis about relationships, and how important and complicated they are. The film explores, through dance and performance, a wide range of emotions and situations that a couple finds themselves in. Featured in the film are the dancers Alex Romania and Christine Bonansea Saulut. The film was shot at various outdoor and indoor locations in New York City and was choreographed by Charles Dennis in collaboration with the dancers. Francesco Beccaro’s original musical score accompanies the film.

about the artist

Charles Dennis is a Brooklyn based interdisciplinary artist, choreographer/director/producer and video artist. Charles has been active in New York dance and performance for over 40 years. In the 1970’s he performed in many of internationally acclaimed theater director Robert Wilson’s early works. In 1979 Charles co-founded Performance Space 122, one of this country’s most active presenters of new dance and performance. During the 1980’s and 90’s he created and performed numerous solo and large group community-oriented performances at P.S. 122 and other venues, receiving numerous fellowships. Since 2000 he has being exploring the creative possibilities of dance and the moving image and has created a collection of documentaries and short films.
