In the lounge Fear of revolution Sonja Blum

About This Show

An angry and humorous monologue that weighs the pros and cons of becoming a revolutionary. Blum weaves together personal ruminations with historical references and revolutionary texts, as she explores the mind games we play with ourselves, our own comfortable complacency, and when we must stand our ground.

about the artist

Sonja Blum is a cognitive neurologist and multidisciplinary artist based in New York. Her work explores the liminal space of intuition, memory and human action. A primary concern of her work currently is how individual cognition works within the societal context in times of extreme anxiety about our individual and collective futures. In 2016, as part of Harunalee’s play titled To the left of the pantry and under the sugar shack, Sonja had her theatre debut with performance talks on memory at La Mama Theatre. Sonja is on faculty at NYU and Pratt Institute, and currently pursuing an MFA at SAIC.
