Performing ‘ REAL’

REAL is a suite of dance works choreographed by Chris Ferris including If This Were Not Real, Three Point Perspective, and a premiere solo.  REAL reaches out into the very edge of periphery, of finger tips, and far reaches of the room.  As space is defined, boundaries are created and the dancer as a single unit appears.  Actions wind into tighter working mechanisms of puzzle and knot.  This dance reflects alienation as a result of living in a time of hyper-connectivity.  Original music composition is by Loren Kiyoshi Dempster.  https://chrisferrisdance.com

Performing ” Dash – Between”

‘Dash – Between’ is a ballet with six movements about living life in the dash between “born” and “died.“ Fighting Light depicts blocking one’s path in life, taking the same steps over and over, not going forward. ‘Til It’s Done is about toxic relationships recurring until they are resolved. Cradle depicts each partner needing the support of the other within a family. Felt expresses the idea of our loved ones still being felt after they have passed. Smudge represents cleansing our space of negative energy. Enlightenment portrays accepting one’s path in life, becoming oneself more fully, and stepping forward.
