Vivian Gornick is an American critic, journalist, essayist & memoirist. She was a reporter for the Village Voice from 1969 to 1977. Her work has also appeared in The New York Times, The Nation, The Atlantic Monthly & many other publications. She has published eleven books; the most recent, The Odd Woman and the City, was published in May 2015. She teaches writing at The New School. For the 2007-2008 academic year, she was a fellow at the Radcliffe Institute at Harvard University. In the 2014-2015 academic year, she was the Bedell Distinguished Visiting Professor in Nonfiction at the University of Iowa.

Katherine Angel is the author of Unmastered: A Book On Desire, Most Difficult To Tell (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, Penguin/Allen Lane). She teaches Creative Writing at Kingston University & is completing a book on subjectivity in contemporary sex research. She has a PhD from the University of Cambridge’s History & Philosophy of Science Department; she has held fellowships at Warwick & Queen Mary, University of London. Her writing has appeared in The Independent, Prospect, The New Statesman, Aeon, The Los Angeles Review of Books & Five Dials. She also collaborates with The Blackburn Company on live art readings of Unmastered.
