About the Artists

Ian MacAllister-McDonald is a playwright, filmmaker and educator from Portland, Maine. He holds an MFA in Playwriting from Brown University, where he also taught. He is the recipient of the Visionary Playwrights Award from Theatre Masters, as well as a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and a Clauder Competition award. Ian currently teaches at Loyola Marymount University and is a contributing writer for the L.A. Review Of Books. Ian’s first feature film, Some Freaks, premiered last summer at the Fantasia Film Festival and will distributed in theaters and on VOD later this August.

Anya Liftig is a writer and performer. Her work has been featured at TATE Modern, MOMA, CPR, Queens Museum, Atlanta Contemporary, The Kitchen, Performer Stammtisch Berlin, among others. Her work has been published in The New York Times Magazine, BOMB, The Wall Street Journal, Vogue Italia, Next Magazine, New York Magazine, Hyperallergic, Bad at Sports, The Other Journal, and many others. She is a graduate of Yale and Georgia State and has received grant and residency support from MacDowell, Yaddo, VCCA, Franklin Furnace, Atlantic Center for the Arts, The New Museum, Mertz Gilmore, Flux Projects, and Casa Tres Patios-Medellin, Colombia.
