Enlightenment takes place in the contained space of the Present Center. There is no past. There is no future. There is nothing but now. It isn’t even about enlightenment. That comes later: before you die.

About the Artists

Grace Connolly has developed, staged & performed work(s) at venues including LaMama E.T.C. (script development with Obie-Award winner Ping Chong), Primary Stages, The Wild Project, Bowery Poetry Club, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, The Krane, The Fresh Fruit Festival, Great Lakes Theatre, Idaho Shakespeare Festival & Freddy’s in Brooklyn. Training & Professional Development includes: UCLA, Primary Stages & Kent State University where she was the only person ever to complete a year long independent study on Women in the Restoration. Literary publications include Flying (Cleaver Magazine), The Fool (Blackheart Magazine),  & The Real Bourgeois (The Commonline Journal).

Andrew May’s directing credits includes Great Lakes Theater, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, The Cleveland Playhouse & The Wild Project. He has guest directed at numerous universities including USC, Case Western Reserve, Ohio State & Baldwin-Wallace.  Andrew’s acting credits include War Horse (International Tour) & Moon for the Misbegotten (Pearl Theatre, NYC). Andrew has also worked at theatres including Barrington Stage Company, The Cleveland Playhouse, Cincinnati Playhouse, Milwaukee Rep, Studio Arena DC, City Theatre Pittsburgh, Victory Gardens & The Goodman. Film/television includes Big Love (HBO), Striking Distance (Paramount), The Babe Ruth Movie & What She Doesn’t Know (Lifetime).
