About This Show

This is a ‘Virtual’ Networking Event for everyone creative with “MAX4” Performance Segment.  Premiered on zoom on 9/10/2020.

Calling everyone creative of all backgrounds – artists, dancers, choreographers, designers, musicians, actors, writers, comedians, photographers, and everyone in-between and beyond….to come and network, connect, share your events/projects,  explore ideas, learn about other projects and learn how to be involved, and have fun! This is a great opportunity for creative people to come together to find ways to collaborate and cross-pollinate.

MAX4 will present 4 live (virtual) performances of max 4 minutes each, before we start introductions and networking.

About the artists!

 

Jonathan Howard Katz is a NYC-based composer and pianist, and directs Periapsis Music and Dance. He’s collaborated with numerous choreographers, including Seán Curran, Manuel Vignoulle, Kate Skarpetowska, and Erin Dillon, and served as adjunct faculty at NYU Tisch. He’s received support/commissions from New Music USA, Concert Artists Guild, and others.

Kyla Piscopink is a dancer/choreographer who strives to make dance accessible, useful and fun. As the founder and artistic director of Dance Key West, she has danced and presented work at Dixon Place, Lincoln Center, Triskelion Arts, and all over the stages and streets of Key West.

Michele Herman is author of the poetry chapbook ‘Victory Boulevard’ and her novel ‘Save the Village’ is to be published by Regal House in 2021.  She also does developmental editing and is a veteran teacher at The Writers Studio.

 

 

 

Dr. Susan Dewey is author or co-editor of over 100 articles and 11 books, including “Outlaw Women: Prison, Rural Violence, and Poverty in the American West” (NYU Press) and “Telling My Story: Voices from the Wyoming Women’s Prison”, a collection of incarcerated women’s writings (https://sites.cortland.edu/wagadu/v-17-2017-special-issue-telling-my-story-voices-from-the-wyoming-womens-prison/). She is a Professor of Criminology & Criminal Justice at the University of Alabama (https://cj.ua.edu/people/susan-dewey/)

about the organizer

 

Sangeeta is an independent producer of arts and entertainment events with a background in dance.  She loves producing hybrid events/ shows exploring relationships between dance and other art forms. She is the Founder/Director of Creative Performances.  Her projects include StylePointe fashion show, NYC Drawing the Dance Workshop and Dixon Connect/MAX4 – Networking for everyone creative. She is a dance curator at Dixon Place, NYC, curating Fast Forward and 8 in Show dance series and 30-30-30, an End of Year Dance Benefit. Sangeeta strives to create platforms to help early career artists progress in their professional careers.
