Dixon Place Hosts: This is Not J.A.W.S. Fight or Flight Theater Company

About This Show

After a sold-out run last summer, trapeze theater company Fight or Flight brings its high-flying parody This Is Not J.A.W.S. back to the New York stage for the 40th anniversary of the most famous shark in cinema history.  Come watch Chief, Quint, and Richard Dreyfuss hunt the world’s deadliest Great White… from the air.  John Behlmann, Richard Thieriot, and Dan Loeser star in this aerial adventure comedy directed by Wes Grantom.  It’s time to jump the shark.

Fight or Flight Theater Company

Fight or Flight Theater Company has been performing plays on the trapeze since 2008.  They aim to break open great stories with innovative imagery, and elevate a piece’s poetry by literally elevating themselves. FoF’s core members are trained both as actors and aerialists, creating a unique hybrid of spoken text, humor, and visceral physical theater.  Past full-length productions have included trapeze-based versions of Shakespeare’s Richard II, the award-winning Henry V (on Trapeze), and the original 1980s-era comedy Trapeze Hero!.  Their other aerial movie send-ups includeTop Gun and The Lost Boys.  The group is currently developing an aerial adaptation of the classic Moby-Dick.
