About This Show

A fabulous live band and choreographed backup dancers will bring an evening of sappy love songs, sappier call-in segments, and the divine wisdom of Delilah Rene Luke to a special late night show at Dixon Place. Performance artist Emily Oliveira (unaware of the show’s songs and text until the night of the show) will lead the festivities guided only by a recording of the selected episode of Delilah played through a pair of headphones, and her knowledge of soft rock love songs. DELILAH (What is Love? Baby Don’t Hurt Me) will perform through her, with her; it will reenact the act of love song transubstantiation that Delilah performs five nights a week for her over 8 million listeners. DELILAH is a séance and a mass, a continuous dialogue with and through Delilah and Love (both transcendent and saccharine). Delilah speaks; we listen.
