ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Amanda Erin Miller is a writer, character comedienne, and actor. She has toured her solo shows The Jew in The Ashram and How To Suffer Better to venues and festivals nationally and internationally. In 2013 she published her memoir One Breath, Then Another on Lucid River Press. For nearly 8 years she’s produced the literary variety series Lyrics, Lit & Liquor. She also has an MFA in Creative Writing at The New School and a BFA in Acting at NYU.
Jon Arons is a Grammy-winning musician, singer, writer, artist and dancer. Tours with Disco legend Gloria Gaynor, he has also performed with Alicia Keys, Jon Bon Jovi, Stevie Wonder, Usher, and Pharrell. Jon’s best known for his television appearances as the dancing trombone player
Joyce Miller’s “Ofhubbard,” excerpted from “The Handmaid’s Dianetics,” is a reimagining of Bobbie Gentry’s “Fancy”, and tells the story of one being’s reincarnation as leader of the world’s fastest growing religion, in spite of past life gender confusion.
Peekaboo Pointe is a performance artist, burlesque performer and choreographer. She received an MFA in Performance and Interactive Media Art from Brooklyn College and a BFA in Dance from George Mason University. She began performing in nightclubs in 2003 and has created a body of work that can co-exist in both traditional performance spaces and the world of nightlife entertainment.
Wendy Osserman is Artistic Director of The Wendy Osserman Dance Company which has appeared in most NYC dance venues over the past 40 plus years. Osserman collaborates with stunning dancers, visual artists and with Musical Director/composer/musician, Skip la Plante. Osserman confuses the personal with the political as she conveys her struggle to comprehend current events and history with drama and humor.
Mei Yamanaka is a dancer and choreographer from Japan. Mei moved to New York in 2008. Mei has worked and collaborated with artists including Catherine Galasso, Tiffany Mills, Mark Dendy, Jennifer Archibald, Christine Bonansea, Jody Oberfelder, Boy Friday, among others. Mei’s work has been seen at Fresh Tracks at New York Live Arts, Movement Research at Judson Church, Mix Festival at HERE, Food for Though at Danspace, and more. Mei was a “Fresh Tracks” residency artist at Dance Theater Workshop(now New York Live Arts) in 2010 – 2011. Mei was also residency artist at Chez Bushwick Artist In Residence in 2014 at Chez Bushwick. www.meiyamanaka.com
