In the Lounge Constable Nate Speare

About This Show

Nate Speare explores the resonance of found sound, via the city’s environmental ‘noise’, when reproduced in a performance space by the human voice. Constable blends theatre, ecology & sonic art. Using the dynamics of the streets and steps of City Hall and its nearby courthouses as source material, Speare searches for the place where chance meets necessity—where noise, hustle and bustle become ecstatic music. He juxtaposes songs and vocalizations with video/audio recordings of the cityscape, metaphysical reflections prompted by the city, humorous snippets of found dialogue and outbursts, and improvisation.
Join Speare as he searches for the magic in the ever-changing human relationship to noise and commotion.
