HOT! Festival Club Dada/Kabaret Kaput Creators: Ellen Foley & Robert I Rubinsky

About This Show

Club Dada/Kabaret Kaput is cabaret in the Kurt Weil Weimar sense of the word – With an implicit theme of ageism, two ancient vaudevillians hang in a surreal Dada world, somewhere outside time and space. A duo lost, theyre forced to keep performing by outside fanatical  forces and their own egos. They keep belting out tunes and hoofing into eternity as they try to break free and find themselves in spacetime. This is CLUB DADA.

Tom Aulino (Director) is a NYC based actor/director who has performed on Broadway and at many off-Broadway theatres including The Vineyard, The Public, Lincoln Center, Second Stage, Theatre for a New Audience and with the legendary Theatre-in-Limbo; as well as many regional companies. He has directed plays at LaMama, Remains Theatre (Chicago), and Kansas City Rep.
Ellen Foley has been in show business longer than she can remember. What never dies, and she’s glad of it, is her famed collaboration with Meat Loaf in the song “Paradise by the Dashboard Light”. Through it she forever remains a horny teenager. And, in no particular order, she co-starred in TV’s Night Court; created the Witch in Sondheim’s Into The Woods; One Life to LiveFatal AttractionHair; Tootsie; Married to the Mob; portrayed Sally in Broadway’s Me and My Girl; worked with The Clash, Blue Oyster Cult, Ian Hunter; and much more. Yes, she HAS been around a long time…
Robert I Rubinsky (aka Robert I) is best known for starring in the original Broadway company of HAIR and on the #1 best-selling original cast album (for which he made $315). He survived the 60’s, Studio 54, 9 months & 14 days in L.A., and decades performing in NYC’s Downtown ‘scene’! He was Herod in Jesus Chris Superstar; co-wrote the cult musical Dementos, and in this century he was Bobby, the Middle-Aged Celebrity, the late night off-Broadway tell-all of being over 65, Jewish, gay, with Tourette’s Syndrome.
