About This Show

Tidal Channel are the noise / poetry alliance of Genevieve Fernworthy and billy cancel. Their output spans “sonic abrasiveness” (New York Times) to displaced string laden folk tales. Their single X-Dressing At The Radar Base (BC35 Volume 2 Bronson Records) was recently described In FREQ as “as a surreal spoken word masterpiece.” In 2017 they performed “In Rode Headless-Multi” at Wheal Jane Mine, Rosendale, opening and closing the sculpture exhibition “Eotechnic Sensorium.”

BUTTERCUP TANTRUM MUTTON ENCORE debuted in 2019, being performed in front of the Chuck Close “Mosaics” Exhibition at MAR Museo d’Arte Ravenna as part of Transmission XII Festival.

About the Artists

billy cancel is a Brooklyn based poet/performer.  His debut collection MOCK TROUGH RASPING CROW is out now on BlazeVOX Books. His poetry has appeared most notably in Boston Review, Lungfull! Pouch, PEN America & Bombay Gin. He wrote & played a leading role in Marianne Vitale’s ‘Missing Book Of Spur at Performa 13.’ In 2019 billy & his work was featured in London based culture / fashion magazine HERO as “New York’s new poetic voice.”

Genevieve Fernworthy is a  multi-instrumentalist, and artist who performs under the solo moniker lauds. Her solo musical output is expansive and she incorporates elements of synthpop, soul, psych, and noise into her instrumental + vocal work. She launched Hidden House Press in 2009, is the Founding Director of the Kings County MicroKORG Choir, and co-produced the jaw-dropping compilation, BC35: the 35th Anniversary of BC Studio (Bronson Recordings, 2018).
