Brink Featuring Jeremy Pheiffer, Tess & Greer Dworman, Marilyn Maywald Yahel

About This Show

Loop
by Jeremy Pheiffer
Dancers: Lily Gold, Jeremy Pheiffer
Music: Patrick Gallagher

Two dancers perform a looping sequence with homolateral arms and legs.  At the end of each iteration an arm movement is delayed so that it occurs during the beginning of the next sequence.  The relationship between arms and legs is offset.  This is repeated until the arms and legs once again match up as intended.

Greer : Live
by Tess & Greer Dworman

Possibly the shortest one-woman show in existence, “Greer : Live” brings profound language, movement, stories, and insight to on-the-go New York theater-goers who might be on a tight schedule and small budget. Learn and then possibly forget the tale of another millennial’s move to The Big Apple. Hear the voice of this generation try to explain why we needn’t pity their hopes and dreams because, well, they’re here, they’re Greer, get used to it.

Marilyn Maywald Yahel presents a solo dance where motion is an engine for memory & imagination.

About the Artists

Jeremy Pheiffer is little known choreographer out of southern Brooklyn.  In Pheiffer’s early years his mother described him as “graceful” and forced him to do embarrassing Jacko impersonations during family festivities.  Pheiffer would quit dance when schoolwork and extracurriculars became a burden to balance.  Eventually Pheiffer found his way back to the big stage where his insulated dance community granted him enthusiastic critical praise, “Good job!” for his performances.  Pheiffer now takes his choreography to the big city with big dreams of what awaits in the future.

Tess Dworman is a choreographer and performer who has lived and worked in New York for six years. She is currently working in the artistic processes of Julie Mayo and 600 Highwaymen. Tess is very grateful to the very brave Greer Dworman.

Greer Dworman is a Chicago-born now Brooklyn-based dance artist. Her work has been presented in venues across Chicago (she only just got here) and she has had the pleasure of working with artists such as Taisha Paggett, Kim Brandt, Emily Johnson/Catalyst, Joshua Kent and Lisa Gonzalez among others. Greer is currently on staff at Movement Research. She has been seriously attempting stand up comedy since early 2014.

Marilyn Maywald Yahel dances with Beth Gill, Melanie Maar, and Vicky Shick, and has worked closely with Melinda Ring, Maggie Bennett, Steven Reker, and Yin Mei. She graduated from Arizona State University, teaches Pilates at Finetune in Brooklyn, and recently became a mother. This is her fifth solo performance in NYC.
