The hybrid expansion of BLACK-EYED SUSAN WAITS BLACK-EYED SUSAN SINGS Chloe Rossetti

About This Show

Chloé Rossetti’s comedic personas—folk singer, polyamorous lover and bar-brawler Black-Eyed Susan; down-and-out downtown art star Karan Devine; menopausal Primal Scream Therapist® Evangeline Dupree; corporate ex-Mormon PST® founder Dr. Libby Shumway; pseudo-new-age, no-bullsh*t soothsayer Cleo the Past Teller and self-taught tantric sex therapist Sabrina Starr—come to life and interact with each other in this one-woman show.

About the Artist

Chloé Rossetti is an interstitial performance and video artist living in New York City. Antagonistic toward any one discipline, and strongly invested in the discourses around embedded art practices, “authenticity,” reparative performance, self-presentation and lying, she mobilizes her body into different performance personas, as real as real people, on various live and online platforms, to disrupt unquestioned modes of performed or presented identity. Her work, ultimately, makes room for bodies, identities and gender expressions, both gross and fine, outrageous and subtle, termed too “difficult” to be contained by pre-existing power and media structures.
