About the Artists
BITCRUSHER is a digital theater collective. We make plays and put them on the internet. Founded in 2016 by Dan Rider and Holly Kristina Goldstein, BITCRUSHER is an attempt to radically democratize the theater by removing the boundaries of price and location in order to bring our productions to anyone, anywhere and by consciously casting and recruiting artists of all backgrounds, races, genders, and abilities. This summer BITCRUSHER is premiering three projects: Perfect Fifths (Dixon Place, June 2016), THUD! (NYCFringe, August 2016) & You’re Going to Hell if You Laugh (Dixon Place, September 2016), which will all be available for pay-what-you-want viewing on our website after the shows close.
Holly Kristina Goldstein is the Co-Creator of BITCRUSHER as well a director, stage manager, choreographer and performer. Her recent credits include Perfect Fifths at the John Drew Theater Lab (Director), The Young Artists and Writer’s Project at Stony Brook University Southampton (Prod. Stage Manager), Houseworld in Brooklyn, NY (Performer), EVE at Judson Gym (Assist. Director), You’re Going to Hell If You Laugh—selections from which were performed at BAM summer 2015—at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School (Director), and Thud! at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School (Director, staged reading). Thud! will premiere this August at FringeNYC.
Dan Rider is a writer, musician, sound designer and actor, and Co-Creator of BITCRUSHER. He graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2015. There, he played the title role in the Tisch GAP production of Hamlet and began developing his full-length play, THUD!, which will premiere at NYCFringe this August and a musical, Perfect Fifths, which will be premiering this fall. Dan was the first-ever musical theater apprentice at Playwrights Horizons, and is assistant music director of Hadestown at NYTW, by Anais Mitchell, directed by Rachel Chavkin. Recent sound design credits include A Ride on the Irish Cream (American Realness) and The Wolves (Clubbed Thumb).
