At the intersection of technology installation, dance, and immersive theatre, “And It Felt Like a Kiss” is an experience investigating how our lives are shifting with the revelation of multiple personalities revealed by technology. Utilizing movement, technology, and interactivity, this project will explore how our relationships with technology have shifted our relationships with each other, especially in regards to intimacy. Featuring original electronica music by Visager, this project seeks to illuminate how if feels to use our 21st century tools to make a connection. Audiences should be prepared to move throughout the event.
About the Artists
Brandon Powers is a director + choreographer from New York City. He directed and choreographed PINK MILK at Oracle Productions, which was nominated for four 2014 Non-Equity Jeff Awards including Best Choreography and Best Ensemble. Credits include: ALL RIGHT, GOOD NIGHT, a technological dance memorial, MUSIC OF THE NIGHT, a stripped down adaptation of “Phantom of the Opera,” and COMING TO BAD ENDS, a new electro-pop musical. Powers is a proud alumnus of Northwestern University where he was the Executive Director of Sit & Spin Productions and Co-Chair of the Student Theatre Coalition. More at BrandonRPowers.com.
Visager is a Brooklyn-based music composer and producer working both independently and in collaboration with other media artists in theater, film, and videogames. Using sampling and original recording, Visager’s music blends genres, spaces, and moments in time. Visager was nominated for a 2014 Non-Equity Jeff Award for his original score for PINK MILK, and his music has been featured on radio programs around the US and internationally.
