About the Artists

Amy Allison, based in New York City, is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter noted for her originality, depth & cult following. She began her performing career in the LES in the late ‘80’s fronting The Maudlins. Her first show was in the original Dixon Place performance space, Ellie Covan’s living room on East 1st Street. The daughter of jazz/blues artist Mose Allison, Amy has released 8 albums (5 solo & 3 collaborations). Her debut, The Maudlin Years was cited by Elvis Costello as one of the ‘‘essential albums’’ in Vanity Fair. In May 2015, Amy’s song ‘‘Her Hair Was Red’’ was featured on the Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell album, The Traveling Kind. Amy’s most recent solo album Sheffield Streets was produced by drummer, Don Heffington in Los Angeles & features Elvis Costello, Dave Alvin, Van Dyke Parks, Greg Leisz & other musical luminaries including her father, Mose Allison.
