about the artists

Molly Bicks is a theater producer, director, writer, and actor. Bicks is an alumna of Sarah Lawrence College as well as The National Institute of Theater at The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. Bicks is a founder of Brooklyn based  theater family Rat Queen Theater company, as well as being the associate artistic director at Exquisite Corpse Company. Recent projects include How we live in our Bodies Now by Darcy Parker-Bruce produced by Exquisite Corpse Company (director) Swaggy: An American Love Story, produced by The Brick Trans Theater Festival, (co-writer/director) Judy Live in concert, Produced by Rat Queen Theater Company, (producer/co-writer). Ed and Mo, produced by Rat Queen Theater Company, preformed at Dixon Place Main Stage (Director).

Carsen Joenk is a director, designer, and performer based in Brooklyn, though originally from the great land of Chicago. She holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College, with a concentration in theatre and comparative literature. At SLC, she was awarded the opportunity to study at the La MaMa Umbria International Director’s Symposium in 2015. As a theatremaker and story-teller, Carsen’s interests range from new play development to classical text. She is intrigued by morality, gender, pop music, translation, trash, and glitter. Past directing projects include Romeo & Juliet (Women’s Naked Shakespeare), Trout Stanley (The Melancholy Players), Metamorphoses  (SLC Workshop), TheMoors (Downstage Theater Company), and Drinking Game, a new play by Patrick Vermillion. She has worked as an assistant director at Ensemble Studio Theatre and was a literary intern for the LARK Play Development Center. Carsen is the co-founder of a new emerging theatre company based in Bushwick, and recently was the sound designer for Exquisite Corpse Company’s The Enchanted Realm of Rene Magritte.
