Alone Together Curated by Megan Hanley and Leigh Hendrix

About This Show

Alone Together is an evening of queer solo performance created by six independent artists. Drawing on the queer tradition of solo performance, these artists will share exciting new material side-by-side– for one night only! Join this ephemeral queer community for an evening of new performance, poetry, theater, dance, and fiction. Presented by The Syndicate and Dixon Place, this evening asks: “What can queer solo performance do in 2015?” And then it answers: “Anything queer solo performance wants.” With performances by Mieke D, Ren Evans, Samantha Galarza, Megan Hanley, Leigh Hendrix, and Mette Loulou von Kohl.

About the Artists

Leigh Hendrix is a Brooklyn based theater maker and founding member of The Syndicate, an ensemble theater company building new plays from the ground up. Megan Hanley is the Co-Artistic Director of The Syndicate. Recent performances include: Pentheus/Bea in Civility! at the Brick; Gertrude Stein in Well Job, Gertrude, part of the 2014 HOT! Festival; Jacob in Tugboat Collective’s Poor Sailor; and Split Britches’ Desperate Archives at La MaMa Galleria. Megan was an invited artist at the 5th Annual UCSUR International Theater Festival at elgalpon.espacio in Peru and performed in the Hemispheric Institute’s Encuentros in Brazil and in Canada.
