A solo theatrical piece told through a series of monologues that delves into the world of mentally ill patients. A police officer who is traumatized after watching his rookie partner shoot an unarmed mentally ill teenager; a 13-year-old girl reveals the pain of bouncing between foster care and an alcoholic mother; a woman with paranoid delusions becomes desperate as she believes all of her food and water has been poisoned and a man in a manic episode rants about how he’s not the one who should be considered sick.

About the Artist

Beth Zetlin has been a psychiatric Social Worker for a Mobile Crisis Team in the South Bronx for almost ten years. She studied acting at UMBC, Towson State University before moving to NYC, where she earned her Masters from Columbia University School of Social. She was the lead singer of the band ”The Headless Barbies” in the mid 90’s. Acting credits include “In Bed with My Books,” and “Trifling with Fate.” directed and written by Michael Bergman. The piece “Abandoned Parts” is inspired by her nephew, who at the age of 16 was hospitalized for Schizophrenia.
