Rivky’s musical career with cellist Brian Sanders with the writing and recording of their first Album-EP, Angel Sings the Blues. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Rivky’s music combines unique beat structure, a jazzy-folksy, blues style, and the influence of her Hassidic cultural upbringing. Rivky’s work has been compared to the arists of the 1950’s including Jacques Brel, Laura Nyro, Billy Joel, Freddy Mercury and Sara McLachlan. Rivky continues to play at various spaces, jumping genres, stages and styles that sometimes blend elements of Jazz/Rock/Swing/Pop/Folk and others. With peaceful grace and a deep fervor that trembles the soul, some of Rivky’s work fuses together the new and the old world in the way that only NYC allows, in its effortless and electrifying contrapositions.Currently Rivky’s work is being used for The Kingdom Of Vincent Grapelli, a musical Cabaret at the Workshop Theater Company, directed by Jack Feldstein and music directed by David Seamon.Rivky still cherishes her Yiddish roots and is usually seen performing for those on the periphery and in underground Hassidic culture, favoring a low key living room session or in the sanctuary of the Jewish scene, rather than a main stage.

Rivky and Brian’s newest demo was recently produced by Grammy-winning Pop Artist Amy Lee of Evanescence. Rivky and Brian were invited to perform at Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet in NYC in a performance featuring Suzanne Vega. Recently, they were also included on the bill for the Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
