About the Artists
Cody Holliday Haefner (Co-Conceiver) is a gay theater director/deviser and a founding member of The Brewing Dept. With TBD, he co-directed The Lady from the Sea and was recently seen in Emily Kaplan’s devised piece STAN, which premiered at Dixon Place. Cody also created HamletGhosts with TBD, which had a showing at Dixon Place in November and will be presented at HERE Arts Center later this summer. Select directing credits include The Connected (FringeNYC), The Arab (Manhattan Rep), NAKED (Fresh Fruit Festival reading), Terremoto (Barnard College reading), and bare: a pop opera (MuCCC). Cody graduated from Columbia University after directing LaChiusa’s GLORDAY as his senior thesis.
Alex Hare (Director, Co-Conceiver) is a theatre director whose recent projects include new play The Generator (reading, Cherry Lane Theatre) and original musicals Lydia & Tom (FringeNYC) and Red Shift (Aroma Collab). Later this summer, Alex will direct the solo play When I Have Cancer in 30 Years and perform in HamletGhosts (HERE Arts Center). In 2014, Alex assisted Bill Condon on his revival of Side Show (Broadway, Kennedy Center). Other assistant credits: Application Pending (Westside Theatre, dir. Andy Sandberg), Wonderful (reading), The Dodgers (reading). Alex graduated from Columbia University in 2013.
