About This Show
‘Dancing ART!’ project fuses the worlds of dance and visual arts and creates a multi-media and multi-disciplinary show. This show was presented on a virtual (zoom) platform, due to COVID-19 on 9/25/2020.
The 30 minutes, pre-recorded, online premiere features two incredibly talented and versatile collaborators who created video content of dance and art remotely (due to Pandemic), exploring the story and inspiration that is expressed in the artworks.
The featuring visual artists:
* Christine Liu – 2 Artworks: ‘A New Reef’ AND ‘A New Calm’. Mixed media, digital coloring.
* Shireen Soliman – Artwork – ‘She. He. Human’ (Gestures of Humanness) May 2019. Procreate Digital Gesture Drawing (Print Size 11″ X 14″).

* Kyla Piscopink of Dance Key West collaborating with Shireen Soliman, presenting ‘Transcending’.

Christine Liu is a native New Yorker who has been a designer and illustrator for over 10 years. She worked in various industries applying her skills. She continues her many creative pursuits and honing her craft by attending various sketch events and sitting at her desk, noodling and doodling!

Shireen Soliman is a Muslim-American artist, educator, advocate and mother. Kyla Piscopink/ Dance Key West – Founded in 2008, Dance Key West’s work has been seen at Dixon Place, Lincoln Center, Triskelion Arts, and all over the streets, stages and beaches of Key West. In addition to performance, DKW offers several community outreach programs, including The ReMARCable Dance Project and DKW Dance + Technique at Bahama Village Music Program.

Vanessa Long is an American choreographer and educator noted for her theatrical style and activism work. She is a graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a BA In Theatre and Dance. After graduation she moved to New York City to begin her career in choreography and stage direction. She has choreographed a total of seventeen Off- Broadway shows along with several short films and music videos. In October 2014 she founded the Vanessa Long Dance Company based in NYC. Vanessa has received glowing reviews about her work. Her work has been performed across the United States, Peru, and Italy.

Zoë Reed Helm is a multi-disciplinary performer with a particular love for dance. She has originated leading roles in musicals in NYC, studied improv at the Second City, performed in A Sketch of New York, and acted in short films. You can see her choreography performed by the brand new company Lit Lounge at special events in the NY/NJ area. Zoë is honored to be a senior member of Vanessa Long Dance Company and Assistant Artistic Director of Vanessa Long Jr. A special passion of Zoë’s is American Sign Language and she hopes to continue marrying sign language with dance theatre in the future. Originally from North Carolina, Zoë studied Dance Theatre at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

About the Organizer
Sangeeta is an independent producer of arts and entertainment events with a background in dance. She loves producing hybrid events/ shows exploring relationships between dance and other art forms. She is the Founder/Director of Creative Performances. Her projects include StylePointe fashion show, NYC Drawing the Dance Workshop and Dixon Connect/MAX4 – Networking for everyone creative. She is a dance curator at Dixon Place, NYC, curating Fast Forward and 8 in Show dance series and 30-30-30, an End of Year Dance Benefit. Sangeeta strives to create platforms to help early career artists progress in their professional careers.
