In the Lounge Trade Federation Andy Boyd and Jonathan Taylor
About This Show
A young avant-guard playwright Andy Boyd pitches an idea for a new Star Wars film to George Lucas. The idea: A prequel to Episode One that fleshes out the intergalactic economic and social implications of the mysterious Trade Federation. Instead of the veiled references to colonialism in recent Star Wars movies, Andy pitches a full-on allegory where the Trade Federation IS the IMF. It doesn’t go well: George Lucas thinks it sounds really boring. Andy goes back to his Los Feliz apartment dejected and discouraged. Then things really get weird.
