Hidden away in the depths of our current musical culture’s obsession with sampling, is a man responsible for inspiring generations of artists across all disciplines. NEW HERE digs deep into the psyche of a complex, often contradictory artist as a jumping off point to explore how to make art in the twenty-first century. And how to pay homage to artists who exploded existing canons, but whose realities are more troubling than most would be comfortable with.
About The Artists
Rory McGregor is a British theatre director. Recent credits: M. Butterfly (Broadway, Assistant Director), Unity 1918 (AADA), Richard III (AADA), Building Pain (Origin Theatre), Underground (59e59 Theaters, Associate Director) Macbeth (Connelly Theater), The Great Divide (Finborough Theatre, London). He is a Directing Mentor at NYU/Playwright’s Horizons Theatre School. Previously the Artistic Apprentice at Roundabout Theatre Company, & Artistic Associate of Classic Stage Company. MFA: Columbia
Jordan Bellow. Recent credits: The Feels by Jeremy O’Harris (#americanAF Festival @ New Ohio Theatre), Regional: A Raisin In The Sun at Indiana Repertory Theatre & Syracuse Stage. He has performed in readings for MCC’s Youth Company at Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre and at Dixon Place. Other regional credits include All The Way, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, A Christmas Carol at South Coast Rep, & Fly at Florida Studio Theatre. TV: Gotham, Orange Is The New Black.
