In the lounge Awkwardly Social QuaQuaQua

About This Show
A slap in the face – that’s the leitmotif. A plugged ear, thus no voice – that’s the key signature. A raised knife – harmonic development. Three flicks of the tabletop – a fugue subject. Awkwardly Social takes the precision of percussion and puts it in the Black Box. Once inside, it takes a tip from Schrödinger’s cat and assumes a superposition. Both theater and music. Neither theater nor music.
about the artists
QuaQuaQua (Baltimore/New York) revels in the grey area between contemporary music and absurdist theater. A trio made up of classically-trained percussionists, QuaQuaQua set out in 2015 to devote their well-honed skills to find and continually stumble back and forth over the fuzzy boundary separating these two performance disciplines. Part gesture, part performance art, part chamber music, but all amusing. QuaQuaQua is Terry Sweeney, Adam Rosenblatt, and Tatevik Khoja-Eynatyan
